Partners in Pharmacy (PIP) Scholarships—Application Deadline: April 15, 2011
Partners in Pharmacy (PIP) will be offering student scholarships this year. Student members of NCPA are eligible to apply. The student must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. school/college of pharmacy on a full-time basis during the following terms: 2011 fall and 2012 spring.

Since 1915, Partners in Pharmacy has been offering annual scholarships to pharmacy students pursuing a career in pharmacy. This scholarship program has touched hundreds of pharmacy students. The scholarships recognize pharmacy students for their exemplary academic performance, community service, and a demonstrated commitment to independent pharmacy.

NCPA Foundation National Preceptor of the Year—Nomination Deadline: April 25, 2011
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2011 NCPA Foundation National Preceptor of the Year award, which recognizes a pharmacist who has made a significant contribution to the education of pharmacy students as a preceptor in a community practice setting. The award recipient will receive:

  • Engraved plaque presented at General Session during NCPA Annual Convention
  • Up to three nights accommodations at NCPA Annual Convention
  • Complimentary registration to NCPA Annual Convention.

Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition—Application Deadline: May 15, 2011
The application deadline for the Business Plan Competition is just about a month away! Please postmark your business plans before May 15, 2011. Please also submit a PDF document of your plan to studentaffairs@ncpanet.org along with your written plan submission.

The Business Plan Competition helps young pharmacy entrepreneurs develop the blueprint necessary for buying an existing independent community pharmacy or developing a new pharmacy. You could also win a trip to the 2011 NCPA Annual Convention in Nashville, TN and the 2012 Multiple Locations Conference!

The Sharps Compliance, Inc. Scholarship Program Essay Contest—Due on April 30, 2011
Are you looking for additional scholarship opportunities? Sharps Compliance Inc. recently launch an essay contest for students in healthcare and related studies. Students are asked to describe the safe disposal measures they believe could have been taken to prevent a needle stick injury that happened in a real-life situation. The entry deadline is April 30, 2011 and winners will be announced May 31, 2011. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded at $1,500, $1,000, and $750 respectively.
