2010 NCPA Foundation National Preceptor of the Year Award
Nominations are being accepted for the 2010 NCPA Foundation National Preceptor of the Year Award which recognizes a pharmacist who has made a significant contribution to the education of pharmacy students as a preceptor in a community practice setting. The recipient of the award will receive an engraved commemorative plaque, up to three nights' accommodation at the NCPA Annual Convention, complimentary registration to the NCPA Annual Convention, and a $1,000 contribution to the NCPA Foundation in the award recipient's name. Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition
The deadline to enter the Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Student Business Plan Competition passed on May, 15, 2010. We were pleased to receive a record number of plans from 35 Schools and Colleges of Pharmacy this year! Thank you for your hard work and good luck to those chapters who submitted a business plan! The Business Plan Competition helps young pharmacy entrepreneurs develop the blueprint necessary for buying an existing independent community pharmacy or developing a new pharmacy. Three finalist teams will compete at the 2010 NCPA Annual Convention in Philadelphia, PA on October 23rd and the winning team, along with their advisor and pharmacy school Dean, will travel to the 2011 Multiple Locations Conference in Palm Springs, CA! The top ten and three finalist teams will be announced in July!

NCPA Chapter of the Year Application and End of Year Reports
NCPA recognizes the top three chapters and the most improved chapter each year at our Annual Convention during the NCPA Foundation Ceremonies. The award is based on activities during the preceding school year. Criteria include: neighborhood community service, creating members, promoting independent pharmacy, advocating legislative action, fundraising/misc., business plan submission, MTM/wellness challenge report submission, and political action challenge report submission. Click here for the NCPA Chapter of the Year Application and the NCPA Chapter of the Year Directions and Grading Criteria. If your chapter submitted a Political Advocacy Challenge Report and/or an MTM/Wellness challenge report, you do not need to submit it again for your Chapter of the Year Report.
If your chapter did not submit a Chapter of the Year Report, we ask that you submit an NCPA Student Chapter Year-End Report Form before May 31 and briefly describe some of the activities and/or projects in which the chapter has taken part this academic year, any fundraisers, and any comments or suggestions to improve NCPA Student Programs. Chapters that have completed the Chapter of the Year Report need not complete an NCPA Student Chapter Year-End Report Form.
NCPA Political Advocacy Challenge Award
The NCPA Political Advocacy Challenge Deadline is approaching on May 31, 2010. The winning chapter will receive recognition and a commemorative plaque at NCPA's 112th Annual Convention and Exposition in Philadelphia, PA. The winning NCPA Student Chapter will also receive up to $1,000 to defray student member travel costs to either their State Pharmacy Association Legislative Day OR the 2011 NCPA National Legislation and Government Affairs Conference upon submission of receipts for travel expenses.
